C STREET!

On Monday, February 18th we went to Ventura to the boardwalk to ride the carriage bikes along the beach.
We stopped at a camp ground near PCH at a little convenient store to get some water and an ice cream drumstick--yum!

Malia and I raced mom and Bekah in their cart but they were pretty fast and were ahead for most of the trip to the convenient store! On the way back I teamed up with Bekah and we "worked" mom and Malia!! HAH HAH!!
Afterwards mom convinced us to go with her to do some Antique shopping on Main Street--we were not amused....but we gave in and went along since she bought us our icecream earlier! Thanks mom!

Sycamore Canyon Bike Ride!

My mom, Malia, Bekah, and I all rode bikes on Saturday, February 15th; 9 miles down through Sycamore Canyon and to Sycamore Cove Beach to eat lunch! We had a blast and the weather was beautiful! Once we made it to the beach we sat at the picnic table and ate our tuna sandwiches and chips and watched the surf.
For the way back, Mom and I wimped out and had Ryan come pick us up and drive us back to N.P. Malia and Bekah on the other hand rode all the way back up the canyon, a lot of it was up hill, what studs!! It was a fun day and it definitely helped take my mind off my hubby being gone.
I am thankful to my family for being so supportive and planning fun activities to keep me busy! Let's do it again!!

Tchau! Ciao! Adios!

The day had come. We left the house on Friday morning at 9:00a.m sharp to arrive at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base by 10:00a.m.
I took a picture of John as he loaded the last of our bags into the back of the truck.
When we arrived at Camp Pendleton John rearranged some of his gear before heading down to the bus area where everyone was meeting to say goodbye.
One last shot before we say goodbye.
Dental Corps group photo.

Then John boarded the bus with the rest of the group and waved from the window until it drove off.

Ring around the Rosies

John actually surprised me and gave me roses for Valentines Day, the day before he left for Fallujah!
I will have more updates and pictures of the farewell yesterday when I here from John with more info. Last I heard he was still in flight and is safe and sound! As for me, I am doing...o.k and am at my parents home for the weekend...

...more news to come...
Miss you John :) XOXOXO

WHY, WHY, WHY THE RED EYE??

I have forever been cursed with "RED EYE." Maybe there are some hidden deamons in me? I cannot explain why I seem to always have red eye in my pictures even if I am not the subject and am in the background of a picture not even looking towrads the camera at all? Weird? I know! The background is nice though-right?
Whenever someone flashes a picture of me, we look into the picture viewer and the photgrapher says, "Sarah--you ALWAYS have red eye?" I know, I know...let's take the picture again. UGH. Is that so wrong? My wonderful mother-in-law, Sandi is always puzzled by my special red eye effects and is always willing to voice her opinion....but I think that she really thinks I am part evil--heh heh!!!
The pictures always look o.k. until blown up. So don't click on the images unless you are prepared to be frightened...you know you want to but don't...stop it--ok then-I warned you!
You know if John got his hands on these pics he would edit out my red eye as always, but why?
I kinda like it now! HA! Ok not so much-really! Sad... :(

DSW Club Nights!!

"Girls Nights Out!"
Saturday October 1, 2005DSW (Dental School Wives) Club...
girls night out at the Cheesecake Factory in Marina del Rey! Who can forget our man "Toni" and all the free cheesecake--thanks Toni!! YUM! YUM!!
(left to right) Stacy Smith, (me)Sarah Jerome, Collette Archibald (aka Cola!) Rachel Rennaker, and Stacie Rennaker!
O.C. Weekend, September 2006!
Our two Stacie's, could not make it to this gathering but the three burnettes were...
"in like flynn!"
(as Rachel would say--props to Stacy Smith, too!)
We had a fun weekend in Huntington Beach! Friday night we ate at BJ's near the peir. Ooh the Pizookie--my favorite-YUM-I like the chocolate chip of course! On Saturday we went shopping at Fashion Plaza (well, Collette did some $hopping--we were the helpers and outfit opinion givers? make sense?)
I miss our "girls nights out!"
As the DSW Club President, I was sitting here reminiscing about the "good" ole days back in dental school....ok maybe the NOT so good ole days but meeting all of these beautiful, fun girls made it good enough. We started the DSW wives club back in 2003... towards the beginning of dental school. Little did we know what we were in for. A lot happened in those four years at USC Dental School....everything from laughter to tears and all in between!
Now that we are all done with dental school, maybe we should rename our group.
Suggestions?
1. Ex-dental school wives club (Ex-DSW) ...our temporary name lately...
2. Desparate ex-dental school wives....
????
FIGHT ON!
