Bucca Shower for Kelly

On Friday, April 10th (I know I am behind...) we surprised Kelly with dinner at Bucca di Beppo's and a bridal shower! We made her wear a crown with a veil and a light up pin that said "Bride-To-Be!" She was a good sport!

On Monday night we met up with Johns family and friends Luke & Lynda at our favorite local Mexican Restaurant, Maria's!!

Birthday Dad and Egg Contest!

On Saturday evening we celebrated my dads 60th Birthday!!! My mom decided surprise my dad and bought him a new mountain bike!

My dad was so excited!

Now they can go biking hard core all over the trails in Newbury Park!

We made it a contest and our grandma, "Judge Jane" would be doing the the judging!

The competition was steep...we were all so nervous!!

Sycamore Canyon Bike Ride!

On Saturday morning (before our bike ride) we woke up to John making his famous requested buttermilk pancakes! They were so delicious with strawberries and my moms famous orange syrup! Chef John!Leland & Kelly enjoying the first batch!

Bekah met us to pick up the bikes for my mom, Kelly and myself. We were too wimpy to ride back up through the canyon. Leland, John, & my dad did the trek back---phew!!

April Fools? Sarah has been telling me for a while that I stop breathing in my sleep. I think it is because she is holding a pillow over my face but I can't prove it. I went to Balboa hospital for a sleep study. It took about 15 minutes to hook up all the wires on my scalp, face, legs, chest, and neck. I had a nasal cannula that was really uncomfortable.

After I was hooked up it was lights out at 2100 aka 9PM. I was all tucked in sleeping on my back with all the wires hanging off of me. I don't usually sleep on my back.

About an hour later I was still tossing and turning and the worker came in to ask if I was cold. I got up and while he got another blanket I carried the wires to the head (bathroom).

I dosed off a few times but never achieved a deep sleep. Oh did I mention my neighbor was sawing logs which also kept me up! I woke up again around 0330 when the worker came in to check a connection. At that time I was wide awake and eventually the worker came back in at 0430 to unhook me.

The only good things were that I got to sit and watch ultimate fighting without Sarah telling me not to watch it and to sleep on a Tempurpedic which is a step above our 10 yr old mattress :)

April Fools...Wedding Date!

So...I totally got my MOTHER good this year for April Fools!

My older brother recently got engaged and they have been planning their upcoming wedding for this summer, June 26th in Washington, DC.

This past week my family has been busily trying to coordinate all our flights and hotel reservations and finally got it all taken care of this past weekend! Phew!

Well, today I called my mom around noon and simply asked her if she had spoken with my brother yet today--she said, "No-have you??" I said "Yes... and continued with my "story...."

"Mom-did you hear Kelly is freaking out now because they might have to change the wedding date?" ""Whaaaaaaaaaaat??" screamed my mom! "Well, yah-I know--it's crazy! I guess one of her sister-in-law's who is pregnant has to have a scheduled c-section the same day as the wedding??" "Whaaaaaaaat?" my mom screamed again.....!!

...APIL FOOLS!!!!!!!!!

Gotcha ya-mom!! HEHEH--I'm so mean!
