Shingles for my B-day?

What the @#!$% ????

So, I went to bed on Friday night anticipating my birthday the next day! John and I had plans to go to breakfast, see a movie and then meet up with my family at Woodranch BBQ for dinner at The Grove in Los Angeles!! Before going to bed I was having really sharp aching pain on my left side of my chest, shoulder arm and back. Weird? Was I having a heart attack? Nah!! I couldn't be. I also had had a small rash on the left side of my chest but didn't think it was related. Duh!
So, on Saturday morning (my birthday) John and I headed to one of my favorite places to be on my special day...the E.R. at about 9a.m. YUCK! We were preparing ourselves to spend pretty much the whole day there but luckily the E.R. was empty! (who would've thought??) They took me right in, did an EKG (normal) and then took a look at my rash and said..."yah you have shingles" THANKS. UGH. :( Before my diagnosis John texted his mom Sandi and said we were down the street at the E.R., Sarah has chest pain. Sandi threw on some clothes, grabbed her camera (of course) and rushed over...what a nice mother in law :)
